Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn, an American actress. Her most well-known character is Skyler White on her role on the AMC show Breaking Bad, for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 as well as 2014 for Outstanding supporting actress in Drama Series. She also appeared in Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in the year 1968, Anna Gunn fell in love with the art of acting during Preparatory School after her family relocated to Ohio at the end of the 1970's. She attended the British American Drama Academy and took classes in theatre in the theatre department at Northwestern University. Anna worked in Chicago's theatre for several years, before attempting TV and movie roles. Anna's first role of note was Arden as she appeared in Down the Shore. She appeared on 29 episodes. After appearing as a Guest Actor in a variety of TV Shows and movies, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue in the 90's and was later cast as Jean Ward as part of The Practice. In the mid 2000's she was assigned to Deadwood in the role of Martha Bullock for two full seasons. Skyler was her role in Breaking Bad. Gunn also appeared in the Deadwood film and Sully. Gunn also took to the stage to play in David Schwimmer's production of Sex With Strangers. In 2022 Gunn also appeared in a series of audio drama podcast titled"Numbered Days". Breaking Bad is often built around Walter White's relationship with the wife of his character, Skyler. The strained relationship and ultimate demise mirror the tragic end to Walter White.
